Tenfour print ad: the finger and the moon
ll media are social. We all somehow respond to what we look & listen, even when alone. Mass media are social media too. Their content is a topic in our daily conversations. Movies, music are the pulp for our daily communication, trivial or outstandingly creative.
Behaviors however, in and out of all media, are not always social. Netiquette is but one example. Quarrels in split screen television news are another.
Are you looking at the finger or the moon? Regardless of all media, communication is all about adjusting and adapting, all about creating mutual codes. And breaking the codes needn’t be rude. It’s a creative challenge. Communication is about accepting the Other. Not just pressing the Like button.
